Information Processed Locally
The following data is processed and stored locally on your device only:
User Preferences
- Quiz difficulty setting (easy, medium, hard)
- Number of questions preference (4 or 7)
- Sidebar visibility state
This data is stored using Chrome's local storage API and never leaves your device.
Session Data
- Wikipedia article content (title, sections, summaries) from pages you actively use the extension on
- This data is stored temporarily in session storage and is automatically cleared when you close your browser
Information Sent to Our Server
When you generate a quiz, the following is sent to our secure proxy server:
- Wikipedia article content (text from the section you selected for quiz generation)
This content is:
- Used solely to generate quiz questions via AI models
- Processed in real-time and not stored permanently on our servers
- Not associated with any personal identifiers
- Not used for any purpose other than quiz generation

Used to generate quiz questions from Wikipedia content. No personal data is shared—only Wikipedia article text.

- All communication with our proxy server uses HTTPS encryption
- Our server implements rate limiting to prevent abuse
- No user data is logged or stored permanently on our servers
- Session data is automatically cleared when you close your browser

- Server-side: No data is retained; content is processed and immediately discarded
Your Rights and Choices
You have full control over your data:
- Clear local data: Remove all extension data by uninstalling WikiQuiz or clearing your browser's extension data
- Disable the extension: You can disable WikiQuiz at any time through Chrome's extension settings
- Modify preferences: Change your quiz settings at any time through the extension popup
Children's Privacy
WikiQuiz does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13 years of age. Since we do not collect personal information from any users, this extends to all age groups.
